South Philadelphians

This is the view N from our rooftop. Our landlord told us that we weren't to be up there, but he did so with a decided wink. We're on the third floor and our apartment is the one with roof access for the landlord to get to the air conditioners. I'm sure if he weren't so pleasant I could research the options for forcing him to buy a ladder.
Anyway. We found a cheap little place in a goodish location. The size and beauty of the actual apartment are lacking, but those first two bits are far more important. We're due south of city hall, which is the town square and the skinny bright white tower 1/3 from the right edge of the picture. Pruitt's job is due south of us at about the same distance away.
We're here. After this weekend we should have extra futon space for invited parties.

Dude. I missed something. You moved. Which City are we looking at in the picture?

Oh. I should have read the title. :)

what's the appeal of wawa? saying it aloud?

wawa's are denatured gas station convenience stores. they lack the two essential items, car fuel and beer. i must say, i don't approve.

Well the beer thing isn't Wawa's fault it's the state of PA's fault. Have you been to a PA state owned liquor store yet? Get ready for some fun.

I went to school in PA, there was a Wawa, I liked it.

So I had a feeling we actually didn't live very near a Wawa and I googled it to see and sure enough, the nearest Wawa is like 30 blocks away. hahaha. Too cool for Wawa I guess...

i haven't had the money to visit the liquor stores. that they're entirely separate from beer sellers is unhandy. that gas stations don't sell beer is unhandy.

where did you school, jon?

Lafayette College, just up the road in Easton. But I also did a year at a prep school called the Hill School, that's in Pottstown. About 40 minutes from Philly.

small world. I found this through Grace's Blog, suburban Wawas have car fuel. Beer is only sold in state stores thanks to it's quaker heritage.
